Terms of service
Effective
Agreement
These terms apply when you download or use the PrivoVault app or this website. By using them you agree to these terms. If you obtained the app from the App Store or Google Play, that store’s terms also apply; where they conflict on how the app is licensed, the store’s terms prevail.
The app and your licence
PrivoVault is a personal tool for recording expenses, assets, income and vehicle costs. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own household and affairs.
You may not copy, resell, reverse engineer or modify the app except where the law allows it, or use it to break the law or to harm others.
Your data and your keys
Your records are encrypted on your device and, if you choose, stored in your own cloud account. We do not hold your data or your keys and cannot read, restore or recover them.
Your Emergency Kit (recovery phrase) is the only way to restore the vault on a new device. Keep it safe and private. If you lose your device and your Emergency Kit, your data cannot be recovered by anyone, including us. If someone else obtains your Emergency Kit, they can open your vault; create a new kit in the app if you think it has been exposed.
Household staff
If you invite staff, you decide what they can record and you are responsible for that access. Their phones receive a separate household key that never opens your assets or net worth. You can revoke a staff member at any time in the app.
Not financial, tax or legal advice
Figures in the app, including net worth, market prices, exchange rates, fuel prices, depreciation and passive-income totals, are estimates for your own information. They may be delayed, incomplete or wrong. PrivoVault does not give investment, tax, accounting or legal advice; check important decisions with a qualified professional.
Third-party services
The app can connect to services we do not control, such as Apple iCloud, Google Drive and public market-data sources. Your use of them is governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for their availability, accuracy or how they handle your encrypted files.
Prices and purchases
Any paid features are sold through the App Store or Google Play and billed by that store under its terms, including its refund rules. The price and what is included are shown before you buy.
Our rights
The app, its design, name and logo belong to us and our licensors. These terms give you no rights to our trademarks.
No warranty
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose. Keep your Emergency Kit and, where it matters, your own records of important documents.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profits or opportunities, arising from your use of the app, including loss caused by a lost Emergency Kit, a compromised device or a third-party service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or rights you have as a consumer in your country.
Ending use
You can stop using PrivoVault at any time by deleting the app and, if you wish, its folder in your cloud account. We may stop offering the app or a feature; we will try to give notice in the app so you can export your records first.
Changes and contact
If these terms change, the new version will be published here with a new effective date, and important changes will be shown in the app. Questions: [email protected].
