Privacy policy
Effective
The short version
PrivoVault has no accounts and no servers that hold your data. Everything you enter is encrypted on your device and, if you choose, stored in your own Google Drive, OneDrive or Dropbox. We, the makers of PrivoVault, cannot see, read or recover it.
What the app stores, and where
Your financial records, assets, vehicles, chat entries and the usage patterns behind suggestions are stored on your device in an encrypted database (AES-256). The key is protected by your phone’s secure hardware and released only after Face ID or fingerprint authentication.
If you connect a cloud account, encrypted copies are uploaded to a private app folder in that account. The cloud provider stores ciphertext only. Their own privacy policies govern their services.
What we receive
Nothing. The app contains no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking software, and it never sends your data to us.
Network requests the app makes
Market prices and exchange rates are requested from public sources (for example CoinGecko, Yahoo Finance and an exchange-rate service). Your holdings are mixed into a fixed list of popular symbols, and quantities or values are never sent. These services can see your IP address, as with any web request.
Fuel prices may be fetched from public price lists. No location or vehicle details are sent.
Signing in to your cloud provider uses its standard OAuth page; PrivoVault receives only a token limited to its private app folder.
Processing on your device
Speech recognition, receipt and odometer reading (OCR) and text understanding run on your device. Photos taken for scanning are deleted immediately after they are read.
Permissions
Face ID / biometrics to unlock the vault; camera to scan receipts and QR codes; microphone to dictate entries; optional approximate location to improve suggestions (kept on the device); notifications for vehicle reminders. Each is optional except biometrics, and can be revoked in your phone’s settings.
Household staff
If you add staff, their phones receive a separate household key that opens only shared expenses and vehicle logs. They never receive the key to your assets or net worth. You can revoke access at any time; the household key is then rotated.
Your rights and choices
Because we hold no personal data about you, you exercise control directly: delete entries in the app, delete the app’s folder in your cloud, or remove the app to erase local data. Data-protection rights under the laws of your country (such as the GDPR, Saudi Arabia’s PDPL, Qatar’s PDPPL or Vietnam’s Decree 13/2023) remain available to you; contact us with any request.
This website
privovault.com sets no cookies and loads no third-party resources. It is served by Cloudflare, which processes connection data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site.
Children
PrivoVault is intended for adults and is not directed at anyone under 18.
